Jim Paterson began the Agency on March 1, 1965 in the basement of his mother's home in Franklin Square and opened a small office a year later in Mineola. Four years ago, we moved to much larger quarters with extensive parking. During our 58 years serving the people of Long Island, we have grown to a 5 full-time team with emphasis on personal service to our customers, many of whom have been with us 40-50 years as well. In this age of extreme pricing throughout the industry, our agency still believes in "the personal touch!"

Jim attended Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park and Hofstra University, where he played varsity soccer. Sports has been a big part of his life. He has been a radio and TV sportscaster in the 70's and 80's. He was the Public Address announcer for the Islanders through their championship years, and also announcer for the Jets, Mets and the Cosmos during the "Pele" years. His interest in thoroughbred racing led him to join with West Point Thoroughbreds and horses that competed in the Breeder's Cup at Santa Anita and the Queens Plate(Canada's version of the Kentucky Derby) in Toronto as well as all major racetracks in America. But all those interests were secondary to serving the various insurance needs of his policy holders throughout the NYC-Long Island area, which he continues to do daily.
